All children born to a Danish parent acquire Danish citizenship by birth automatically, whilst children of immigrants born in Denmark can acquire Danish citizenship under certain conditions through a declaration submitted before the age of nineteen. Danish citizenship can be acquired either by birth, descent or by naturalisation.
